Plz Help. Xenium Frag, Re-soldered And Still No Go
« on: December 22, 2004, 08:15:00 AM »

Hey all.

I was using my Xenium with no problems for months on end. One day I powered up and had a solid red light on the chip. I figured the solder points came loose, so I just re-soldered everything.

Well now, I get the following when booting...

Power On
LED on Xenium is Red, Xbox LED solid green
Self Re-Boot
LED on Xenium is Red, Xbox LED solid green
Self Re-Boot #2
LED on Xenium is Red, Xbox LED flashes Green/Red and stays this way until i power off
No video on all of the above stages

I removed the chip, and the Xbox boots normally when I hook up the factory drive. I can play retail games with no problem, so I narrowed it down to the chip.

Could my chip be fragged? Specs in sig. Thank you!

You can try switching the switch into recovery mode and seeing if you can get that to come up.  If so then ur OS just went bad for some odd reason (wouldn't be a first, happened to me).  Just put what ever OS floats ur boat on there, I use 2.0.1 cause i know it works well.  Not upgrading anymore unless i have good reason  laugh.gif   I never boot into xenium's OS so i couldn't care less 'bout skins  tongue.gif

Sorry man, i'm not very farmiliar with the xenium chip unless it's ice.  Good luck though, 8 months of use shouldn't kill a chip though, i'm sure someone uber smart will answer your question soon  smile.gif   Just give it time.

I was told there was always a recovery chip on the Xenium blue. Are you sure there isn't one?

If you put the switch into recovery mode and nothing comes up, it means the chip is either not soldered correctly or there is something wrong with the motherboard (perhaps  you fubared a trace or bridged something you shouldn't have bridged)
