what bios are you running on the 1.6 it can possibly be a 1.6b and require the
EvoX M8+ 1.6 bios

no, it is a 1.6. the RAM is samsung. i am running M8 (not the M8plus). So far the other games work. On Madden, it goes straight to a black screen and never recovers (never does the intro).

Video mode? On PAL machines, is PAL-60 enabled?

Could try clearing the E:\CACHE folder and X:, Y: and Z: drives.

ok, can i ask, does anyone run madden 2005 with an upgraded hard drive (either via the original cd or other means)?

My friend had a similar problem.
I'm not sure how he solved it, but it involved deleting the contents within the TDATA & UDATA folders of E. Beware though, your saved profiles from other games may also be deleted. Better do a backup first.

did you clear your cache?
is your clock set right?

this is on the cd right? and not on the hard drive?
cause the early versions of the os had a bug with some live games played via the hard drive

yes, i am trying to run the original cd, i have the clock set (via msdash), and i cleared the cache via OS 2.2.0 'clear cache' disk tool.

Mine works fine from the HD or from the disk. I did a HD upgrade a long time ago and it corrupted all my madden saves. Madden wouldnt load at all. I downloaded XBOX Saves Manager and deleted my madden stuff from the xbox and all was fine again. You might wanna look into that.

how did you know which folder (under TDATA) was for madden?

u could under the ms dash delete your madden save if u can't tell which is for madden by the folder alone

I have to try this too. Mine freezes when I save a game on Madden 2005. I've been playing it from the CD.

just to put closure to this thread, i deleted every from my e:/saves,tdata and udata folders, and then madden did work.
