Request For Future Update
« on: December 22, 2004, 02:44:00 AM »

Hey nice job on the new release, TeamXodus!!!!

If you guys are gonna release another update to your OS, can you implement the option to put the skins folder on the F: instead of E:????

Something nice for people trying to keep their C and E drives clean of foreign things.

my $0.02

Also, how come it takes longer for the os menu to come up when using a different skin other than the default one?  like 2-3 seconds longer.

I thought i screwed something up when i uploaded and changed the default skin.  I rebooted, then the delay happened.  I got worried, but it eventually came on.

Just ideas......  There's 3 more days till christmas...

They hardly use any space, plus m$ could scan all your game saves cache data from apps if they wanted to.

MS can "check" F just as easily as E....

Also, the delay you're experiencing is because XeniumOS checks the lock status, and unlocks the hdd, the first time a file on the hdd is accessed..... in this case the skin .cfg and backdrop.  Hence the extra delay before the UI coming up.

Another thing......  Does "clearing cache spaces"  really work???

I did the clean up,  ftp'd in,  and E:cache still had stuff in it, and z: still had all the avalaunch cache files.  Does it need to restart before the cleaning actually happens?

Or when you load the bios,  it'll be clean???

If anyone's bitchin,  It's you.  It's not my problem youre easly content  with a product that you said, have a couple of "issues".  Why not address them.... dry.gif

The  default skin is ALMOST flawless if you ask me.  But since we in the mood of changing skins.......  Why not.

So does that mean if I use a Xenium OS skin with Quickboot that I will have to also re-lock the HD each time I boot before I can load the retail kernel to play Live?

When using a different skin, when turned on, takes 3 or so seconds for the os to come up, compared to instantaneous response when using the default.
