Why Did My Os Upgrade Work?
« on: December 15, 2004, 08:04:00 PM »

I had the file in E:...I never once renamed, moved it, or anything.  I tried the update a half a dozen times.  I would select recovery and it would say something over and over again every 20 seconds.  It almost looked like 2 error messages slightly run together.  Anyways I go upstairs to select Recover so I can write down WTF it was saying and I'll be damned if it didn't find the file.  It was updated and shut down in about 60 sec.  My previous version was Ver 2.0 Public Beta 2.

Why did it work THIS time?  Just very curious.  Thanks.

well did you give it ample time?  some people think it's not working but it takes a good 3 to 5 minutes for it to recover then the xbox shuts down.

I gave it plenty of time.  It would continue to display the error message until the entire screen was filled. I let it go for 20 one time.   The time it did work it only displayed the single found file message and about 60 sec later it shut off.

It's just strange because I was just doing the recover again so that I could write down the message to post here - then it worked.
