I Installed It Wrong...

yea recheck your soldered points make sure for no splash of solder on the mobo, which d0 are you using bottom or top?  they say the bottom is easier.  also check your pin headers, push down on them to see if any are loose, if they are resolder that pin back in.

well the bottom part of the pin headers are placed ontop of the mobo and they should fall into the lpc ports unless you have solder, you remove the solder and place the pin header onto the lpc port and then you hold it down with tape, turn it over and solder the bottom of the ports onto the bottom of the lpc holes.

that should work thats how i did my first xbox, but it's sloppy, might nto work so great at least you had help i was doing it by myself... poked my fingers a couple of times but then i got a desoldering iron and removed the solder from the holes, placed the header on there flipped it over and soldered the bottom and it worked great, and it only took 3-5 mins to do, such a cake walk!

yea mines is too big also, all i do is place it where the solder is but before i do, i press and hold the suction bubble thing and once i place the iron on the mobo i leave it there like 3 to 5 secs and then i let go of the vaccum suction thing and remove the iron, and the solder is gone fromt he lpc port, but before you try it on another lpc port, keep squeezing the vaccum till the solder you sucked into it comes out, because sometimes when you press it again and about to suck some more solder, it spits out solder and it can land on your mobo.

yea it should but maybe some aren't fulyl connected but fromt he sound of it it should be connected, so that shouldn't be the problem, check your d0 and if that doesn't seem to help then fiddle with the chip like when you fully put it on the pin headers, put it halfway this time or at an angle making it tilt might help, my messed up xenium i have to fiddle with but whith a brand new one i just place it ont here and it works fine.

i don't know i just know what it does lol, the d0 on the bottom should be right near the pin headers towards the left, just really look at the pictures and try to figure out in the picture what are of the motherboard it is.  yes the lpc gives the chip power, but the d0 i guess makes it connect, if the d0 isn't connected the chip will have just the red led if the d0 is connected and is working the chip will flash from red to green or some other color meaning it's active (wokring)

yea there isn't anything else that needs to be connected or disconnected, yea the lpc ports should be fine, just try soldering to the bottom d0 point might fix your problem, if not then it must be the chip or some other issue.  sometimes these things can be tricky and annoying.
