best way, don't sign up to live yet d it on your original hd, and make sure you don't have like questionable files in your mem on your original.  take out the chip everytime you play just to be super sure, some peopel get away with this some don't it's better to be safe than sorry.

If you haven't ever signed on LIVE yet, you're fine. Leave your big HDD in.

Then boot to the retail kernel from the xenium os (This is equivelent to turning the chip off), sign up for live, pop in your retail copy of halo2 and you're good to go biggrin.gif Don't swap your HDD after you first sign in or you'll be banned. And don't sign in to live from a hacked BIOS... or you'll be banned biggrin.gif

Nowadays there's no clear cut way for modders to stay on live.  However,  I have done what appleguru said a while ago, and i'm still on live ...  3 months and still going strong.

The best thing to follow now in my opinion is the marriage theory... where the hard drive that you used to sign in for the first time, must stay the same, or a ban.

Playing on live with a modded xbox is basically playing russian roulette.....  Some get away with it (like me),  and some get shot in their ass (like deathbringer).

Even when u follow the mariage thery,  don;t forget to only log on live with the default bios.  Turn off auto sign in, and if you can, put ur account on a memory card.

Unplugging the network cable when using the hacked bios won;t hurt either.

Hope this helps....  and good luck

No need to do stupid things like taking out the chip cool.gif

i know complete noobs who haven't been banned from Live that are doing the same thing... obviously you aren't telling the whole story or you just plain don't like AG  tongue.gif

the safest way to use Live is to use it on a 2nd Xbox....

If you don't want to ues live, X-Link or XboxConnect work very well for me.

I rarely encounter lag on them. And they're free!
