Turned out i just needed to unlock my hdd, works great now.

OK...similar problem for me.  Except unlocking the HDD didn't work.  I'm putting my recovery.bin file in the E: drive.  What could I be doing wrong?

Solved.  I was really confused, I looked in my E: drive after I thought I ftp'd recovery.bin over to it and I couldn't find it.  It put it in the C: drive so it's no surprise why I kept getting a Halt! when trying to update.  I think it was just me being unfamilar still with ftp.  Eventually I figured out how to get it in the E: drive and it updated no problem.
