Stick with the Xenium Ice...at least until the X3 gets a better bios.  I have a few friends that have X3's and they have had a lot of bugs with them.  Now, I just installed one for a customer and flashed the 1957 bios, but too early to tell what it's going to be like now.  I will say it was sweet flashing via HTTP:  that was cool..

Good luck with your choice!

im a xenium fan also i had a chameleon befor ethis

then decided i would try something new so i sold my xbxo and got a 1.6 lol

unlike u i aimed for a 1.6 wink.gif

and the ice is wicked

thumbs upt o xenium u guys for sure have this area nailed

xecuter is delaying there chip for one reason
they wait for others to release then copy or add new features to be there competitors. which to me is low balling and dirty :S

the x3 really isn't even a 4th generation chip... why? it's not a legal OS made without m$ code, its an illegal embedded XBE acting like a OS...   wink.gif

if you ABSOLUTELY want to try something other than a Xenium, then try a SmartXX, i woudl say they are 2nd place following the Xenium...

like i said.  i love the ice chip.  i've had no problems.  ever.  done 2 os upgrades, and an hdd upgrade with it.  nada.  zip.  zero problems.  which is why i said i appreciated the work put into it.

and its not that i'm dying to try something new.  but i'm one of those people that get bored easily.  i enjoy learning new stuff.  and case mods are just a "time killer".  just thought trying another chip would help educate me a little more.

but obviously i decided against that.  i'll be getting 2 ice chips this month.  one for my buddy, and one for me.  so i'll have 2 boxes chipped with ice in my house.  3 installs for me.  its just a beginning.

what do you guys think is a smarter solution.

right now i got a 1.4 with 200 gig hdd and thompson drive.

the new one is a 1.3 with stock hdd and sammy drive.

one box is for me.  the other for the wife and kids.

the wife and kids box will have some rpgs for the wife and kids games for the kids.  everything on hdd.  will probably need 80-120 gigs.

should i swap the sammy into mine, and put the tommy into theirs.  or should i inherit the 1.3/sammy and put my 200 gig drive in that one.

sounds like the dvd swap is the simplest.  any input?  and keep up praising xodus.  i'm sure they'd love to read it.

EDIT:  plus i thought how much i'd hate to have the kids playing with a bunch of external chip switches.  ugh, i can only imagine the damage they'd do.

What dash are you using? Don't use one too fancy.. that would suck if your kid did a wrong command and screwed up something.

The ICE is the best chip i've worked with. I've been chipping consoles since the 90's (damn that long ago already?) and this is by far the best thing i've had the honor of holding my solder pen to. Kudos on the great job team and I'm looking forward to the next improvements. SPecial appreciation for putting the ftp server on the xos.
