The same goes for me as the thread starter. I found the so called help from TeamXodus a complete shambles, when i knew for a fact the OS2 had a problem and had the xbox sat in front of me and I was told point blank that I was lying.

I mean come on guys you are tryin to keep a buisness going here and this is how you treat your customers.

So you will be glas to hear that i'm moving onto a better chip maker and will never have anything to do with you all again, I will spend my money else where.

ngfx:

You came into the support channel, and immediatly harrased the volunteer support staff, demanding to speak to team xodus staff members.  I grudgingly obliged you in this, and you then proceeded to harrass me as well.  Being indifferent, I shrugged off this behavior, and attempted to carry out our normal user support process.  You continued to be abusive, despite.

Eventually, I set the channel +m so that I could explain something, uninterrupted.  This was not only done to calm you down, but also to calm others in the channel whom you had "riled up" with your brazen statements and offensive tone.

Your complaint was registered, and listened to.  Tests were performed.  We were not able to reproduce your situation on any of a half dozen boxes.  I now consider the issue closed.  Should others report the problem as well, further investigation will be done, but I'm afraid we cant drop everything we're doing and spend days hunting down a bug that may or may not exist, on the claims of one irate, offensive, and disrespectful customer.

If you feel that I mishandled your support request in any way whatsoever, I appologize...... but there are protocols in place, and I was simply doing my job.

Artifex,

I had the same issue with XOS 2.0.0 the clock settings in a V1.4 box.  I was doing electrical work in my house and had to shut off the power to the whole house.   That night I went to play I received the error code 16 amd i had to place the retal drive in and set the clock.

The irc channel is not helpful at all.  I went in there with a very specific problem (that still hasn't been solved), asked the question, and sat there.  When someone decided to reply, it was a generic update your os repsonse (which I had tried already and stated that I had tried it), then an "I don't know".  After that, about 10 min of silence or random chats.  It was far from helpful, and I still have my customer's 1.6 paperweight sitting here because they didn't want to help me on irc or on the forums.  I tried to contact them directly but they don't have an email, they tell you to go on irc and the forums, yet no one will help me on either.  The forums have been some help but no one has been able to solve my problem.  If anyone does want to help from xodus, please look at the following threads, they detail my problem in every detail I could think of:

Yes... was chatting to you for 1hr.  Halfway through trying to troubleshoot your problem and determine why you were having issues, you stated:

16:43 <@wizardofc> 4 get it laters man

I really don't see how we can be blamed for having poor support if we're not even given the chance to attempt to resolve your issue.

Seems to me like people just stirring up trouble for troubles sake.

I've said this before in regards to Xs.. and I suppose it applies here as well.. IRC issues should remain on IRC.

As for IRC based support from Xodus.. I don't think anyone is paid in that channel to sit and provide 24/7 support. As such.. that means anyone in there idling or talking are doing so on a volunteer basis.

You'll get some good help from some.. and some not so good from others.

IRC, like any conversation medium, doesn't always convey the message or the intended meaning of words "spoken" in there.

I'm sure that people with issue they want to take up in there, if they take some time and address the question properly, to the right people, in the right manner will get answers more to their liking.

This isn't a unique issue for Xodus. People ignoring help provided, or being irate in other scene chipdev channels can usually expect similar responses. (same with dashboard channels etc)

Anyone looking for PAID support, should first try the support channel and site for the SHOP they bought their chips from. Some provide excellent support. (also not unique to Xodus.. whichever chip you own, the shop you ordered from likely has PAID support staff online)

I would just like to state this...

I've used ALOT of chips in my days, I've modded more then my fair share of xbox's, I've dealt with various devs and TeamXodus is the best IMO.

I'm sorry some of you have had random problems, but as HSDemonz has stated everyone has those issues on some level. Every encounter I've had with anyone affiliated with Xodus has been nothing but helpfull and supportive to myself and anyone I've seen them encounter. Aswell.. if you are looking for assitance, approach these guys with respect, they bust their tails evey day to bring you a GREAT product, and in my eyes it IS a great product.

I wouldn't put any other chip in my Terabox or any otehr box of mine, and when a customer ask's me for a recomendation, I point them in the direction of the Xenium Ice.

just my two cents...

I have installed 6 ICE chips and still going....not a single problem.

All the 6 chips OS were upgraded via the HD method and all are running the latest OS.

There are many members who have had success with these chips, you dont hear much from these members because all is well.

Reading the few negative comments can easily give people the wrong idea.

My 2c..

I have installed 2 ice chips on 1.6 xboxs successfully, but my install isnt the problem, the problem lies in the mistake of the person I installed it for.  I don't know, I don't really wanna rip on them, but I wish there was a way to contact the team directly without irc or the forums since I tired those and they have been no help.
