I'm not sure if this is a known bug or not, but after I updated to OS2, as I was trying to  name the BIOS I flashed, the menu was extremely slow; not only that, but when I hit a letter, two letters would appear, not one. It appears that b/c  I  had a controller plugged in port #2 as well as the controller in port #1 , that it caused these problems. I disconnected the controller, and the problem was instantly solved. Other than that, it looks and feels much nicer than its predecessor.  beerchug.gif

Just replaced the recovery.bin (V2.0 Beta) with the new V2.0.0 file and did the recovery option in the Menu. It worked, I got the welcome screen "Welcome to Xenuim OS V2.0.0" but I can't navigate the menu with my controller.

Anything I did wrong? when I upgraded to the Beta Version it worked fine.

Just got the iso version so I'll try that to see if it's any different.

I'll post any updates.

@ Lazybones: For HDD recovery to work on 1.6s you need to unlock your HDD first wink.gif

x_quest, do you have a 3rd party controller? The new XOS2 2.0.0 supports more of them, butnot all of them. If you have an original  M$ controller, plug it into port 1 and unplug any others...See if that helps.

Another problem. The files on my F partition don't show. Does OS2 look for the superblock for partition 7 to determine if there is one? That would lead to false positives sometimes.

Edit:

Well, after adding some files to my X. Y, and Z parttitions to verify that listings worked on those all networking broke. Switching back to dynamic IP fixed the dead network. Now it's set to static again and working.

Weird.

Edit again:

Ok, when I ftped those files over (as mentioned above) I was using my dashboard's ftpd. I decided to do the xfer using 0S2's server and got a kernel panic and reboot after starting the xfer of a 500k file to X. The file did transfer and NOW it's working (I can transfer stuff to X, Y, and Z--still no files on F, though).

Trying to upgrade from OS 2.0 Beta 2 to 2.0.0 fails. Tried with HD and CD image. Both failed even tried with harddisk unlocked. When i tried to flash from cd i did remove the recovery.bin from the e: partition.

I get an GetNextCluster : Attemp to read invalid Cluster error.

appleguru,

I do have 3rd party controllers, and they worked fine with the beta version. My original M$ controllers are not working, so I'll have to borrow one to try it.
I went back to the beta version for now.

thanks for replying
