It should indeed.

Check your board for *any* solder splashes/anything... You have your HDD/DVD drive plugged in right?  It'd FRAG without those...

Check even closer for splashes/any broken traces, etc. A bad connection at asolder joint, unless touching another connection, wouldn't cause a FRAG without the chip.

And yes, without d0, the chip effectively does nothing.

QUOTE (multisynk @ Sep 22 2004, 02:40 AM)
Well what do you know. I tried an IDE cable from my PC. The xbox now boots properly with the HDD and DVD drive connect. It boots retail/normally without the mod chip on the pin headers, also it boots to the normal/retail xbox dash when the chip is connected back to the pin headers (Mind you I don't have the d0 harness connected) Is this normal? I wonder if the IDE cable was my problem all along. If this is normal behavior (Booting to MS dash even with chip installed on pin headers, and d0 disconnected) ... then I'm just going to re-solder my d0 connection, and reconnect the harness.

Lemme know what you think

Its normal behaviour if you damaged the IDE cable while installing your mod wink.gif
