You mean InstantBoot.

QuickBoot allows you to hold a specific button on the joypad when XOS starts up to automagically launch a nominated bios. InstantBoot allows you to nominate a default bios to automatically be launched instantly when the power button is pressed.

First .. are you trying to put in a Bios or the Xenium OS?

If you are trying to put in the Xenium OS the file must be named Recovery.bin.
If you downloaded the CD version from Teamxodus and you get the "Halt" error message then the box can't read the disk,  try different media, or burn slower.

If you got the file version, ftp it to the E drive, the file must be recovery.bin.

If you are trying to add a launch item to the launch menu, then the easiest way is to ftp it to the box from your pc while in the xenium OS , if not burn it to a CDr but you may need to put a dummy file on there or just dump a few mp3's or what ever else on the disk, this makes the disk easier for the drive to read.

Then Goto the launch menu add new item browse to D: and load it from the cd or if doing it from the HD then browse to the drive you put it on and load it from there ..

I'm gonna guess that since you got the halt message you are trying to update your XOS  ...

Hope that helps ....  beerchug.gif

Now if i burn the recovery.iso what exactly can it do for me?
Id luv to be able to launch EVOX and gett back into EEPROMER to fix it... but when i goto launch evox it just boots and flashes red.

uhh you can't flash a xenium from within the evox dashboard (at least that is what someone smarter than me told me) ....

You need to load launch items from the xenium OS ...

And just so everyone knows .. A Launch Item is a Bios of some kind.

If you can get to the Xenium OS you can load a new bios, either off of HD or CD/DVD ...

First what version of XOS are you running OS2B2?

If not running OS2B2 I would suggest upgrading to it.

After that is done go back to the XOS and setup the networking , and ftp to your box, make sure all your dash files are there and maybe dump a known good version of your bios on the hd, (maybe create a dir on C: called bios, and put it in there), then go to the Lanuch Menu and add the new bios and try to launch it.

But I think I'd try dumping a fresh version of evox on the box's c: drive or where ever your bios is config'd to boot from .

Yes I understand what the eeprom does.

Have you tried booting with the slayers disk?

It has the eeprommer on it ...

But the subject of this topic is "Xenium Bios" not "I need to re-write my eeprom"

So when you start talking about writing a bios to your Xenium, that is the questions I answered ...

Not how to re-write you eeprom!

And have you tried setting up the networking in the XOS and ftp'ing to it while the XOS is running?

Not while trying to boot EVOX, you said you could get to the XOS menu, right?!?!

Putting a bios on the xenium i don't think has anything to do with re-writing your eeprom.

If it's not a 1.6 box try the eeprom tools in the xenium.

And bluewoodz you have my apologies for getting a little heated ..
