I tried quite a few times just to be sure, on my xbox every whole was sottered except one, so i took a piece of one of the extra pins and set it down inside so it would reach and make contact, then i used a piece of cardboard to use as a washer to make it more even and as far as i could see all pins where touching the sottered holes. Am i suppose to be using either of the two wires that came with the chip? I couldnt find out what they were for and i have the soderless one so i dont know if they are necassary. One is a small end with two wires coming from it and the otherhas two flat plugs with a ground coming off one. Any other suggestions?

scrap the solderless adapter and use the quick solder method its fast and easy and you will get a better connection.I have a v 1.0 with the solder in the lpc ports I just flipped the chip over soldered it down to the mother board and then soldered a piece of wire from the do pad on the chip to the underside do on the motherboard.

Orphius, it's spelled ' Solder', pronounced the same way you've been trying to spell it: SOD~ER

It sounds like (from your first post) that you have solder still in those lpc holes. Those need to be removed before you use the solderless adaptor. Use a soldering iron and a solder sucker to get that crap out, and from the sound of it that may increase your chances of it working.

But yes, even though it is 'solderless', you still have to 'desolder' and get that solder out!

ok, don't quote me on that. i don't really know what i'm talking about with solderless adaptors, but i thought that was the idea. maybe you don't have to remove that solder?

For the solderless adaptor remove the solder from the lpc ports for quick solder method no need to remove solder just make sure solder from the chip makes contact to solder on lpc ports to make good connection.

well he's been referring to it as 'sodder', (so me and him are on the same pronunciation) but either way, it's spelt 'solder'.
