well if it is all solder in correctly maybe its default bios is the TSOP, try powering it on using the eject button.

I think you should check your solder points. Your chip obviously isn't in correctly because your xbox doesn't know your chip is there, because its booting TSOP. I also think people have to stop it with the "bad chip" idea. Every post of someone with a bad install first blames the chip saying "bad chip?" instead of blaming themselves.

You never know. That trick you did only proves the d0 is soldered correctly.

I have installed plenty of ICE chip, the one that came out of the other plant is the only one that I'm having issues with.  So I know that my install is fine because I am able to get a different ICE chip to boot.

So can you tell me what the issue is?  wink.gif

i'd kinda have to agree with Xdude.  Every keeps complaining all the sudden about bad chips.  Where there might be a case for a couple i dont believe thats the answer to all these situations.

This guy might be a great electrian, but they dont work on xboxs everyday.  I would definatly recheck the soldering.  Maybe i was lucky, but the 1st one i did worked.  but i checked it 10 times over first.  Use a magnifying glass if u have too.

my thing is it is soldered correctly because when removed from the pins and still connected to the d0 points the red lite does not come on. so that means it isn't anything to do w/ the soldering. i had an electrian solder the points for me and the guy does this for a living and he is a friend of the family i seriously doubt he'll do a bad job

That doesn't mean its installed correctly. That means that its *partially* installed correctly.

Check your D0 and LPC connections.

When installed correctly, and the xbox is connected to a TV, if you power on with the eject button, you will see the XOS screen.

If you don't, your installation is not correct. (Unless you have a bung chip, but they are rare, and since you chip is lighting up and stuff that's probably NOT the case)

well i hate to say that im wrong, but last nite after coming home from school i couldn't rest so i opened up that box  and i looked at the points and it seems that one of the pionts were not soldered fully so. you guys were right tonite ill do some more soldering.

ok my next question is what i do one i get the xenium screen? i back up the system right?
how do i do this?
then after that
recommend me a good system... all i really want to do is play "back up games" & watch any type of media on my system & maybe surf the web that one is not a big recommend me a good bios!

anyway once you get it working i'd recommend the x2 4983 bios.  Of course if your box is a v1.6 then the only bios you can use is m8_16.  As for applications, IMO i'd install Avalaunch as a dash and you probably want Xbox Media center to play the media and stream media from a PC.

Backing up is important, but i'd say the most important is getting your eeprom and hd lock information, just incase you ever need it.  You can get the using a bunch of different programs.  I used EvolutionX, but i know you can backup your eeprom on the OS menu as well.  Then you might just want to backup your C: and E: of your xbox, just incase.
