Cdrw/question 'n Crossover Cable Q&a

2 QUESTIONS

1. I got a CD RW and wanna launch from the DASHBOARD on my CDRW.. it works ive used this CDRW on different modded Xboxs but i cant get it to boot from this one. Even when i launch the M8 bios with unleash dash....
How can i get it to boot from this CDRW?

2. So far i have been using a router but if i hook a cross over cable up to it will i have to change the setting in the menu list or will it auto detect it.
I get much faster rates in the past with a cross over cable.

1. Well it looks like you will need to try a different brand of cdrw.

2. If you use a crossover cable you may have to change the IP settings in avalaunch, if you are using a router the xbox may be set to get a DHCP assigned IP number and when you use a crossover cable direct from your xbox to your pc you will need to assign static IP details in the xbox AND your pc if your pc is using DHCP as well.
Also is it a router a switch or a hub you are using to connect it up?  A lot of people use the term router when they only in fact have a standard switch or hub.
