Just a suggestion....

Try FTPing the Original Dash and files back to the HD. Boot to the chip's OS and then FTP from PC.

Try unlocking your HD with the chip and then, put your HD into a friends modded XBox...FTP the original dash and files to your HD.

Then take back to your XBox....Lock HD...and boot with original kernal.

Only possible if you have access to another modded XBox. Is it possible ?

If you have any bios's flashed to the chip in the launch menu, "Delete" them all.

Only leave the the "Retail Kernal" option. Then try to unlock the HD.

When i first installed the chip i had the clock problem, i noticed the chip was giving me a kernal error when i tried to boot, but i could still lock and unlock HD. But when i flashed a bios to a bank with the clock error, i could not do anything until i deleted the newly flashed bios's and set the time in the retail mode.

Just remeber to keep the "Retail Kernal" option.

No... don't unlock your HD!

if you did manage to unlock your HD and the only bios you could boot was TSOP you'd be truly screwed.

Hmmm

Why don't you have the original dash?

What about using a slayers type install cd?

Would it work if I had another xbox default hard drive that isnt unlocked? I'll just pull the one that cause the Kernel Panic and put in another xbox har drive than set the time. Or maybe I can buy another hard drive and use Slayer to format the hard drive.
I have tried to FTP into it but my xbox reboot.
Another approach would be to take disconnect the d0, pull the current hard drive out and replace with another unmod xbox hard drive, set the time, shutdown, put d0 back, plug the unlocked hard drive and it should work.
I'll try this tonight and if it works I'll let everyone know...

The time is set in the MCPX chip, not the HD.

The problem is that MCPX chip isn't a very good clock and forgets the time after a few hours (or whatever) of being unplugged.

...

You could try putting the HD in another XBox then copying evox over and xbwatch I suppose.

I downgraded to v 1.1 than use the Xbox Watch app to set my clock. No more Kernel Panic. I have not tried to upgrade to v 2 after that. I am thinking it might work. Until the real version comes out, I'll stick to 1.1 for now.

OK!

Have you locked/unlocked your HDD just messing around in OS2 Pre-Release??? If you have this is good! The password for your locked HDD is TEAMASSEMBLY... Using a normal PC hook up the hdd and put the original Dash back on it then put it back in your xbox with the chip out and your xbox will allow you to set the time... Hope this helps
