My 1.6 with a philips drive reads anything I throw at it (CD-rs included). So you should be fine. (I guess this could be an advantadge to having a newer xbox...)

ritek's (in most people's experience) offer the best compatiblilty with game consoles.  M02s and G04s are the best (however the g04s have been discontinued, the m02s are the replacement)

Just burned a Ritek G05 8x media at 12x on my new Pioneer 108,  the videos on it play back fine on my 1.6 xbox.

Since when were Ritek G04's discontinued, I've seen them everywhere on the net?

g04s were discontinued about a month ago.  the g04s you're seeing are either residual stock or are actaully m02s.  there is no visible difference between g04s and m02s, only the media code (which you cant see) and a better azo dye (which the naked eye usually can't see).  i used to order g04s and still do, but now i'm recieving m02s, which deliver better performance for me, anyways.

I ordered from supermediastore.com, do you know if these are actually g04's?

if they're not, they're m02s which offer the same, if not better, results
