The fastest way I could work out was to borrow a friends chipped xbox (yeah right)

use the drive upgrade wizard to upgrade from your old drive to your new drive, but not copy the f partition

install old drive in friends xbox

then upload from friends xbox to your xbox...

...

course I still actually haven;t worked out how to get an xbox->xbox ftp to actually work... and I don't know many people who want to open up their xboxes after finally getting them to work smile.gif

Plan B I worked out was rather tedious... (lets hope you have your stock drive around wink.gif)

1) open xbox
2) install new drive in PC
3) backup old drive to new drive via FTP
4) remove old drive from xbox
5) install old drive in PC as well...
6) format old drive
7) copy everything on new drive back to old drive!
8) remove new drive from pc
9) install stock drive in xbox
10) install new drive in xbox
11) use drive upgrade wizard
12) remove stock drive
13) properly install new drive
14) close xbox
15) ftp dashboard to new drive
16) boot dashboard
17) ftp backup from old drive in PC to xbox
18) there is no step 18 wink.gif    (old drive is already in PC ready to be used wink.gif)

Which makes you think... maybe the 1 week of copying isn't so bad?

But then comes the truth... just re-rip all your games... after all... you *do* own them and we're only talking about "backups" after all :-P

I really really hope OzXodus can make the driveupgrade wizard faster, so that it can be used for copying f before i want to do it next smile.gif

Found a way of copying files without the need for two xbox's.

Well I was thinking of a way of getting this done, since the upgrade wizard dissapointed me.  So i did this, i redid the upgrade wizard so it can format my drive and put in the necessary folders.

You need.

1) 2 hard Drives of course.  (Master and Slave)
2) An FTP Client that will let you access or see the contents of both hardrives.  (Cute ftp, Internet Explorer FTP etc...) Flash FXP and Smart FTP didn't work for me.

Alright In Xenium OS 2 beta (not sure about previous OS) has an ip which can or is a ftp.  the ip should be in network settings.  Anyways if you have both hardrives connected and you go to them in ftp.  it should be C F E - X Y Z (Master) Q R S - U V W (Slave).  Check your f drive to see if you can see the contents of it, if not get a different ftp program.  Ok now i haven't been able to ftp the contents of my f drive to my pc thru the xenium os, i had to go to avalaunch so yea go to wherever you need to, to access your files on your hardrive.  ftp it to your pc, and when you're done restart the xbox, and now you're back at the xenium os.  and go back to the xenium os ftp.  and copy all of the contents of f drive to your s drive which is the counter part for it.  ( C - Q, E - R, F - S,) and it should allow you to upload it to there, and once you're done uploading. turn off the xbox remove the older hardrive, change the newer one to master (for me it's master others say cable select but mine works on master) and then boot it up, your games should be in the hardrive and what not.

I'm sorry if this sounds confusing, if you need help just pm me.  if someone could clear this up it would be of much help for others.  if you don't want to do this method, you could always just do the drive wizard, take out the second hd go to avalaunch copy all contents from the old hd to the pc, then turn it off, replace the hd, and go back to avalaunch or whatever, and upload the contents to the new hd.  this method doesn't need two xbox's cuz everyone keeps telling me to get another xbox so i can transfer my stuff.  not everyone around here has an xbox, or has it modded.  so hope this helps.

if you need me i'm always on aim sn is Onepiece4life

Are you saying that both 'f' partitions appear in Avalaunch's FTP server?

as an f and an s drive?

if that was the case you could probably just use the Avalaunch File Manager to directly copy from one to the other, and its pretty fast!

I finally fixed the problem,  wow xbox has many flaws, I had to just do this as if i were doing a fresh install, I made a evox boot disc and all, not using the current one in my old drive, i downloaded one and edited it accordingly. loaded it formatted the drive, where it said to load the backups of c and e i did it without the evox.ini in my backed up c and the apps folder in my e.  then i looked at my backed up evox.ini and edited my new evox.ini accordingly.  and i had to download a new avalaunch and add it, because the old one when i uploaded it, it froze the xbox, and many other errors, but yea once i did that, everythign worked smoothly, i had to change the hdd info in my backedup c, because it was reading the drive as a 120 when it is a 160, but now everything is peachy.  hope this helps someone with my problem.
