I've actually done it. Its relatively easy, to be honest. The technique that was aquired is a nice touch on the soldering end of things.

Note, the bad soldering. grr.gif

That's ok. I purchased a second Xbox a couple days ago, and I'm going to try it again.

pinkeye,

WOW I'm impressed that you 1.6 works,  the pics of your soldering job are proof that anyone could do it...

Did you use FLUX?

the one question i had was i saw some tutorials showing the VCC 3.3 wire going to the one end of the LPC wholes, while another i believe uses a solder pad below it.  Does it matter which one i use?  is the solder pad probably easier to solder to?

I ordered the chip and im going to attempt to solder this thing myself... everyone has to start somewhere and so far will any of the mods i've done i have been successful so lets hope that trend continues.

God damn I just looked at your soldering job.  Thats the ugliest job I've ever seen!  Most of your lpc points arent even contacting the board properly.  Im shocked that it boots, but hey if it works good for you.  Any mod that works is a good mod.

Wow, did that install even end up working?  I can understand the raised pin header, that happens to me too just not that much, has to do with the way the board leans on your bench.  Still, thats pretty fucking bad, I'm glad I'm at least better than that guy.
