I had the same problem, it's very frustrating.

You need to apply pressure down on your chip in order to get it to touch right and work. I read somewhere that a guy stacked 8 pieces of cardboard taped together and used the weight of the CD ROM to hold down the chip in place.. and my bud tried it last night with his and it worked.

These blue solderless adapters are junk :/

QUOTE (carmoniousmonk @ Jul 23 2004, 05:40 AM)
I bought a desoldering iron from shit shack (cheap! 10~) heat  the lpc from the bottom with a regu;ar shit shack iron. once the solder is wet,

which desoldering iron did you buy from radio$h*t?  was it this one?

if so, how did you use it?  i've tried and tried and haven't been able to take the solder off.

Mine didn't work at first, then I took a razor blade and scraped at the solder points carefully and used the paper trick (actually used thin cardboard) under the screw and IT WORKED!

I've seen quite a few 1.1s with solder in the LPC holes
