So it sounds like the people having problems is the people who had hard drives put in right?

People having problems are the people who used the Xenium OS2 Beta or Pre-release to format or upgrade their HDs. Which is the quickest and easiest way to upgrade an HD to a bigger one

Gumba was right.  It's the Xenium OS 2 HD upgrade wizard that is causing the problems.  I backed-up, formated my Xbox HD using EvoX and then restored and now everything works fine.

For those of you who haven't been blessed with the GURU nature of the Evox format knowledge, here is THE URL for doing so:

Yup, but all you have to backup + format + restore is your e drive

Important point as it can take a VERY long time to backup and restore f

You used evox to format, right? (As per Gumba's instructions...)

I had the same problem everyone else had until I followed this little guide, but now a new problem has arose.  I don't know if it's something I missed to cause this or what, but now when I enter my TSOP, I no longer have any of my saved games or soundtracks.  I know they were there before I did this guide, and I know I put everything back into the E: drive that I backed up. Any suggestions as to what I did?

So you know all of the saved game files are located in the Udata folder on the e drive if you do not back up and restore this folder all of your saved games will be lost...

And you music is backed up in the TDATA folder (and other game specific data)

Sounds like you either screwed up the backup, or the restore

currently backing up my E: onto my computer. XBMC takes so long!

The tutorial on formatting the drives through evolution x ftp talks about making a cd, i've already copied the seagate (stock) onto a Maxtor 160g Ultra series, through the pre-release OS that came with my Ice. Evolution X is already on this drive, so i don't have to boot from a cd to load it, do I?

I tried formatting with the 'raw command', don't efel very confident i did it right. It gave me this message my second try:

Formatpath \Device\Harddisk0\Partition1
500 Syntax error, command unrecognized or malformed

I don't have the first clue what to give for raw commands, i just kind of guessed at what it said. I still don't understand the reason for using evolution x for anything..

if someone could tell me exactly what to give for raw commands, it would be excellent, and also, am i supposed to have the E drive on my Xbox highlighted for the raw commands? Or am i supposed to highlight the backup of the E drive on my computer and give that raw commands?

I tried it again and now it says connection lost.

Edit:

Will not connect for ftp-ing when Exolution X is running. I'm sorry to make so many posts, i'll just edit this one from now on, wasn't thinking.

EDIT again: i deleted all of the games off of my E: drive on my xbox, and re-copied counter strike with unleash X. This worked. So since i only had a couple games on there to begin with, i will just re-copy all my games and hope for the best. For the record i formatted nothing, just deleted the games. They are running in folder F: now though.

Nope, you can just run evox (it doesn't even have to be your dash)
