oh I wouldn't worry about that lovely "necessary update" its probably a damn dash/kernel update anyhow or just maybe a game update, but careful when you have the chip running.  it would be a shame to getting banned from live without even having the chance to play on it.  Damn M$ and their new tricks for banning.

Thanks for the tip; I've been having one HELL of a problem with my F Drive (XENIUM + ANY DASH)

When I go home from work this is what I'm going to try; Hopefully it will help me (my problem is that I cannot see my FTP'd files on F from my xbox, but I can from my PC, and while on my PC i cannot see the files I create while on my xbox on F (through UnleashX's text editor)

Running Xenium ICE running XOS 2.0.1 on a 1.3XBOX with a SEAGATE 200GB

Upgrade Xenium ICE to XOS 2.0.2
Flash 4981.06_256k.bin - Configured for Partition 6 to take rest of drive
Install EVOX Dash onto C:\
Run EVOX from C:\
Connect VIA FTP and format drive E:, F:
Transfer back some vitals for E: (I have no valuable data on F so I'd like to get it working and don't care about the data, i can always replicate it)

Does this look like a working fix then?

Or any idea as to why my /F/ is acting so strangely?  I originally prepared the drive using XOS2.0.1's Wizard.  Should I after I upgrade my XENIUM ICE (STEP ONE) use the wizard again?  Or forget the wizard and use EVOX only?

SIIIIGH!  SO close.  Just can't get F working, even after fresh formats.

Deleting two files from e:\cache - LocalCache00.bin and LocalCache08.bin - appears to have worked for NHL 2K5

I followed Gumba's advice and cleared out the E:\cache directory and my problem was resolved.  I am now able to load Mortal Kombat: Deception from the HDD and I can load Crimson Skies from the retail disc, whereas before I would try to load these games and they would hang up and freeze shortly after the title/intro screen.  I used Flash FXP to connect to my xbox.  Thanks Gumba!

I'm not having this problem or anything, but  if you upgrade to XOS 2.0.1, what's wrong with using the built in "format E" partition"?

Just wondering sry if its a dumb question

I have a modded PAL 1.6 to NTSC using HDTV setup
Xenium SP.ICE soldered properly.
a maxtor 80GB HDD

ive had this problem for sometime and have been trying to fix it but just cant, nothing seems to work at all.

i cannot Load 007 Everything or Nothing, certain stages freeze when they try to load i tried almost every i found on the net heres a list.

tried copied game, retail game, game on HDD
tried disabling IGR and all that other crap that comes with unleashX that i dont even use anymore.
tried clearing all cache folders
tried formating and reinstalling all dashes,
tried with Retail HD
tried updating bios from M8 to X2, a couple X2's
disabled HDTV

the only thing i havent tried is smashing the crap out of this box

tried starting game again without gamesaves retorerd and still managed to freeze at once stage.

prince of persia was slow and freezing but i had realised that it wouldnt work properly on 480p and had to disable hdtv support to play it (PAL version of POP)

ive had some hiccups with other games, the suffering ties that bind doesnt even load at all just freezes, but mainly 007 is the problem i cannot get this freaking thing to work AT all

all methods on this thread have not worked.

im wondering if xenium is crap and i need a new chip?!!

pixelphreak,

unless you have a problem with your install, the chip has nothing to do with how games play. I would start by backing up and re-doing your HD completely. Even take the HD out, wipe it then test it in a PC before you restore it.
