I had to switch over, my solderless was coming unalighned all the time. So I said screw it and soldered it in. The first few xbox's I soldered I soldered the d0 to the bottom of the board. That was easy. Now the last few I been doing the top removable, and its so nice.

I did both!
I soldered my solderless adapter, it works great =)
And no fumbling with d0 as I just use the adapters wire.

Well there is a plug that has a d0 and ground wire on it for the Xenium. You can remove it  wink.gif

I agree with FusionX.

I went from

1. solderless to TSOP.
2. Quick solder to Pin header to TSOP
3. Pinheader to TSOP

Now I have 3 chips collecting dust! 1 X2.3 lite b + and 2 Xeniums.

So does that mean it can be a 1.4 or a 1.5?  Because 1.5 requires a bit more soldering.  But if your using the blue and black wires, goes to the same D0 and just needs a groud then it shouldnt matter if its 1.4 or 1.5 correct?  And when you do solder the D0 in the same spot the solderless adapters d0 is.  Do y ou just put it in the whole and is there a solderpad right there on the bottom? Thanks.

I just popped my pinheader cherry tonight. Hehe.

I've been taking my XBox to Halo parties lately and I've been fearful of my ICE getting unseated from the solderless adapter. So I just ended up soldering the pinheader and even though I had a FRAG after installation tonight (which was easily remedied by adding a tiny bit more solder), I'm a little more secure in knowing my solderless adapter won't fly out the next time I transport it.
