this jerk has posted my guide yet again.... the first tread he made was deleted so he makes anouther one.... great.....

LOL, I thought you WERE him at first.

Then it occured to me - he's been posting with multiple problems installing his FIRST Xenium over the last week.  He can't type in complete coherent sentences and has weird punctuation habits.  It didn't look typical of his other posts, so I'm not surprised it's not his.

Good work.

this isn't a total newb guide. Newb guides explain what EVERYTHING is, like what everything stands for and what it means, which i have yet to find because i am a TOTAL newb to modchips, even though i have one on the way.

that's what i mean, TOTAL newbage. i've done plenty of case modding, just nothing much internally, and i have no idea what TSOP FTP d0 lframe or anything is, and this is only a solderless guide. For those of us with 1.6's we need to solder, which in my understanding seems more difficult.

Question.  I have the xenium ice solderless chip to and i was wondering about the led and usb port that comes with it.  I know where the led connects to the chip, but then does the led go outside the xbox?  I'm kind of confused about that.  Secondly, the USB port.  First of all which wires do I use to connect it, then where on the usb port and modchip do they go?  And thirdly does that usb port go outside the xbox to?  Thnx in advance.

then learn how to solder or trade your xbox with someone

I know how to solder, just didn't know where the points were or what some things meant. came out perfect though. Now i just need to get the dashboard up and running, which, in two or three days of constant searching and re-testing, is no closer to happening. heh

Nice info. Maybe you should consider adding "set your time and date" in the beginning before you get "Kernel Panic". Its a B*tch to fix..

Installing BIOS
1.) Download BIOS from internet (EvoX M8 and/or Xecuter2 4983)
2.) Back up your TSOP by adding new launch item and selecting TSOP, this is your original xbox BIOS
?. ) **************************
3.) Either use FTP or use a USB pendrive to transfer BIOS to the Xbox. If you use a pendrive, it will be drive H. To FTP, go to

* Once the new TSOP launch item is created, boot the XBox with the TSOP (original bios) and make sure the XBox has the correct time and date settings. After doing this, reboot the XBox to continue installing bios/s.

hey I may be retarded and have missed something, but I recently put my xenium ice solderless in and it boots up right about 50% of the time. the other half I got to go back in and either try and push it down or attempt to unscrew it and do it as the manual says.  my problem is that i have a version 1.0 where the lpc holes are full and so when I install it the screw end is lower than the opposite end.  basically the whole thing is on a slant because the pins cant go in the lpc points.  any help would be fantastic,

how do you iinstall rivets on v 1.0

Suck out the solder from the holes with a braid and use the pin header to solder it in.  Will work 100% of the time.

http://66.111.59.177...ls/iceguide.pdf

i know this guide is very extensive and most people should use this now, but i would just like to point out that i did help a bunch of people get their ICEs working before this awesome guide came out with my little guide.

if someone would nominate me for the little contest, i would appreciate it

thanks
