Updating To 2.0

I have read that if you use 1.0 on a version 1.6 xbox it wont work. Well is it posible to just have the update in, shut off the box, throw the chip into recovery mode (using the switch) and waiting like 5 minutes to automatically update?

Alright cool. Going to get one of those pencil tip soldering irons this week. I am going to follow the Smart XX way of installing the chip to a 1.6. Will it work this way? I have my samsung drive in there that I used on my 1.1

uhh.gif Not getting my soldering iron till wensday so there still is time to clear things up. I am just going to follow the pics that are in "Successful Install On 1.6 Console!"

Any updates on this?  Were you able to to the upgrade from Xenium OS 1.0 to 2 Beta blindly on the 1.6 Xbox?

Xenium Blue and v1.6 box.

Can You Update the OS 1.x to OS2 blindly w/ CD???
I think I have Philips DVD-ROM.

Hey guys,

I had a blue chip in my 1.6, and I couldn't boot in recovery mode (just got the red LED on the chip and FRAG on the box after 3 boot attempts), but then I removed that chip and threw in the ICE (no resoldering or anything), and it booted fine.  So basically, I don't think you can blindly update the OS on the blue Xenium chip.
