Rocking Out
« on: July 08, 2004, 02:04:00 PM »

I installed my new ice just fine in a 1.4 mobo.  Then the chip got rocked a little bit, and now it wont work.  I can rock it back into place, but the slightest bump knocks it into an inoperable state.  I am using the solderless adapter, should i maybe try the rivets?  Has anyone else had this problem?

The rivets should help but i'd stay away from the solderless solutions. Especially since you have a 1.4 which is supremely easy to solder mod. Just do the pinheader install method and use the bottom d0 point. Seriously you need no prior soldering experience to mod a xbox. It is that easy. Read up a little bit on soldering. Otherwise try the paper trick. I'm not going to go into detail about it cuz it is posted all over. Good luck.

I would also recommend pin header install.

But if you still do solderlees then:
