Unless he messed with the contrast of the videos you will see that the xeniums are white and not blue like in the june 3rd vids

It clearly shows a Xenium ICE with screenshots of XOS2.

So modwhiz did they give you a sample with beta os2 or is that the real thing?

Couple of questions for you:

Have you tested it with the HDTV adapter?  That is how my xbox is hooked up.  If so, how does it work?  Somebody here on xbox-scene tested regular xenium with os2 beta on 1.6 with HDTV adapter and said it doesn’t work.

How is the install?  Is it essentially the LPC Port recovery SmartXX describes, and then standard pinheader or quicksolder install as on previous versions of the console?

I know they are not for public consumption yet, but have you tried using any of the beta hacked bios'?  Just wondering if you’ve seen it and what success you’ve had on Ice on 1.6 running unsigned code etc.

The Xenium ICE should be shipping on Wednesday.  
 
1. We have not tested the HDTV support, but hopefully this question can be answered by OzXodus.  
 
2. We did the pin header install using instructions provided by OzXodus.  However they are essentially the same as the SmartXX LPC port recovery.  
 
3. We have not had the chance to test any bios on the 1.6 xbox.

Booting there OS is one thing, but enabling features user wants is another.


Lets see real a real hacked bios enabling linux or game support!

so there is no hacked bios for the 1.6?  you cant play backups or run linux yet? Is that correct?

That is correct, there is no bios out that you could flash a modchip with that would enable you to boot to linux/evox or anything else.... YET.

My question is: I see all this hype about the "Ice". I bought a 10 pack of the normals way back when they first came out and they are still sitting in there antistatic bags. I never used them because I had a lot of Chameleons left and wanted to get rid of those first. Recently I have received 4 1.6's for modding and I keep telling them they will have to wait a little longer. So my question is, will the normal Xeniums with the 2.0final (when it's released) flashed work with the 1.6's (minus the bios of course) or is there something special about the "Ice" version other than color in regards to 1.6's?.
