ok..used the quick solder install for this xbox...soldered everything...d) fine..turn on..get the xenium screen(1.0)..but it never actually went into the os...after about 2 seconds..it said flashing dne..so im like..wtf?try it agina..xenium screen..and stays there..no green red or orange light fron the eject..xenium was red btw...ok..so maybe i missed a solder point or something..so switch to the header pin install...then nothing..box turns on..fan only..no video..no eject lights...no xenium light..ok...so maybe its a 1.5 xbox...solder the 3.3...turn it on...small poof of smoke comes from around the modchip..not good at all....box still turnes on...but same symtoms as b4..any ideas? is the chip fried? or the mobo? please help..done atleast 10+ installs and never had this problem..or heard of it...

yup..smoke is bad...now it was the screen that said xenium before you see the controller and it says press white for menu..even before the system info pops up super quick..and come to find out...i installed the chip backwards the first time..second time wasa right..bad a bad solderpoint..3rd time...tried a 1.5 install..but solderd the D0 to the 3.3..thats were the smoke came from..the D0 trace on the pcb ont he xenium fried...just bridged it and reinstalled the right ay..everything is workeing greatnow..lol..i was a little stoned when i did all this....but its all googd now..upgraded to 1.1(don't want to give him the 2.0 beta)thanks for the help though
