Screen LCD on Xenium
This small guide will enable you to mount a screen LCD on your Xenium.
There are two means of assembling a LCD on Xenium. Either your LCD has comptatible connections SPI with Xenium (mainly the Crystalfontz screens) or you have a screen with connections parrallèle and in this case you will need an additional assembly.
I) Screen LCD SPI Crystalfontz.
It acts of the assembly simplest to also realize but most expensive.
The Crystalfontz screens compatible with Xenium are those of series 632 (16 characters out of 2 lines) and 634 (20 characters out of 4 lines). You will find them on page Internet of Crystalfontz in the section "serial LCDs".
The assembly is extrèmement simple, here the wiring diagram:
You thus need: to connect the wearing of entry of LCD GND to a mass of Xbox (for example a screw) and to connect the two ports +5V to a point +5V of Xbox (you have ports USB, the food of the hard disk, the connector of food. With each time, take the red wire (yellow = +12 V)). This will make it possible to supply the screen.
As regards connection to Xenium, there are two wire to weld: the DATA_in port must be connected to pine SPIOUT0 of Xenium and port SPI_CLK with pine SPI CLK of Xenium. Finally port SPI_CS must be connected to the mass.
In order to carry out these connections, two possibilities: either you weld wire between the LCD and the points indicated onto the diagram (fine wire, welding will not pose a problem if you take have weld the d0!), either you find the connectors which are well.
The connectors females which go with the port of Xenium are manufactured by company JST. The connector has the job number SHR-10V-S, the contacts have the job number SSH-003T-P0.2. Petite helps before you ruer in your store of electronics... you can require samples (samples) on Internet site of company JST. Do not ask 100 samples, that will make equivocal but 2 or 3, that passes very well!
If no methods is appropriate to you, get you to it cable provides in the Kit Xenium ICE with XorEase and locate the sons which interest you.
Once this cablé, light your Xbox and look at. Attention, Xos 1.1 will not post anything on the LCD (it do not deal with it). The XOS 2 goes on the other hand very well. The best test remains xbmc. Allez in the general options, part LCD and activate it. Look at the result.
IF any walk, very well, it does not remain any more which has position it.
II) Parallel screen LCD or noncompatible SPI
For those having a parallel screen LCD or with a connection SPI incompatible with Xenium, all is not lost. GreenGiant, member of the forum Xbox-Scene with designed a SPI2Par module allowing to pass from interface SPI series of Xenium to the parallel interface.
All is explained on its site. The module contains of with dimensions connections towards Xenium (with connector JST!!) and other of wire towards the parallel interface of the LCD.
Here a table recapitulating wiring has to carry out
Pine Name Connection
1 VSS Mass
2 VDD + 5V
3 VEE pine C of SPI2Par or to consult the datasheet screen
4 RS SPI2Par
5 R/W Mass

9 D2
10 D3
11 D4 SPI2Par

14 D7 SPI2Par
15 BGLED Optional (anode of the LED of rétroéclairage). See datasheet
16 BGLED Optional (cathode of the LED of rétroéclairage). See Datasheet
Here a photograph of the module and wiring on the corresponding LCD:
Once all that cabled test as in case 1) with xbmc.
And to conclude, a small photograph of a screen moving under XBMC!!
