Xos2 Public Beta Out!

Well, it didn't take me long to put 1.1 back on the but the potential of 2 is pretty sweet.  I had problems when I turned telnet off and I had a hard time getting it to actually update in recovery mode.  It said it was doing it, then shutdown.  Turn the box back on and your back to 1.1  After several tries it upgraded but after a few freeze ups I decided to put 1.1 back on.  Can't wait to see the final version though!!!

I used to have an issue with my chip being soldered poorly because of a cold/dry LPC point. I was too lazy to fix it and I was wondering if maybe the new OS could fix it. My Xbox would frag after like an hour of inactivity upon loading the instant boot default BIOS, but it would load Xenium OS 1.1 without a problem. Would I would have to do is let it frag for like 3 seconds, turn it off and wait 10 seconds, and turn it back on and it would work. When I upgraded to OS 2.0 last night, and turned on my Xbox in the morning expecting it to frag and it DIDNT!  biggrin.gif

I have had some really strange problems with the ftp server reporting strange filenames to any client i use to connect to the xbox. Usually, it puts a space in front of the file/folder name. I suspect I'll have to re-format my drive. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

using ftp a 200 mb file transferred about 5,300 kbps. Max was 6,121 kbps.

tried it one more time and got a max of 7,505 kbps in 29 sec. (200mb file)

The FTP didn't impress me too much. Though I can connect, all the HD partitions show up as blank when I know I got loads of data on each partition. Perhaps I did something wrong..

Oh well.. another 5 months before the final code is released...

I'm using SmartFTP and having the problems others are mentioning. You get a blank directory listing unless you instruct SmartFTP to just use the LIST command, as opposed to the default "LIST -a -L" (or something like that), which is frustrating because I've never come across any other site where I had that problem before. However, even when I get the directory listing, there is a space in front of each folder's name, so you still can't navigate.

It's good but I didn't like the red skin they used. And at first it confused me. Didn't know where the bios banks were. I can't wait for the final version.
