I think you shouldnt believe all the propaganda you read spread by the smartxx fans.

You made the right choice, stick with your xenium. Wait till the next version of the xenium os comes out too. For features it will blow the smartxx out the water. Its only because the smartxx os gets an update nearly every week it has more, but why need to update every week unless your os is bugged to hell maybe?   wink.gif

Not to mention the smartxx os is in direct violation of the GPL. <- Click & read.

As for the LCD stuff. You CAN use an LCD with your xenium right now, but only xbox media centre supports LCDs, the xenium os cant be browsed through your LCD yet as the update to the os that supports it isnt out. But you can use an LCD as it is in xbmc, the diagrams for wiring up an LCD to the xenium are out there.

Seriously though, dont believe everything you read  wink.gif  Alot is bullshit, though some will be truth.

You're joking, right?   laugh.gif   No, seriously... you're joking?

Most consumers will and do probably care less, just by nature.  If someone likes the modchip, most wont care even IF they prove to be in direct violation.  It all boils down to ethics, I suppose.

No offense Morlglum, but the first two quotes I took from you are complete bullshit.   biggrin.gif

You must have forgotten all that "fightclub" shit on their page then claiming that ozxodus stole their code, it was bullshit aka propaganda. Oh and what about the HDD banning shit, thats another form of propaganda  wink.gif

Nope, you obviously forgot about the smartxx recovery mode that once rendered the chip totally useless if it went wrong, and i mean totally useless. Or their eeprom stuff too?

Fact is smartxx still violates the GPL, which makes me laugh really when they first started claiming ozxodus stole code. Now who is really stealing code? Granted its not stealing directly as the codes open for all to use, but on a grander scale its stealing from other developers as theyre not giving anything back.

I took no offence at all, not my fault you got a crap memory and couldnt see how or what my comments related too, maybe now you can  smile.gif

I have a smartxx that i was given a few weeks back from a guy wanting to change it for a xenium, i must say im not impressed, i thought id give it a try, i may aswell, i got it for free. But as it crashed twice when i tried to update the os on it, then i had to screw around with dip switches to get into recovery mode its now sitting in the bottom of my junk pile. The xenium is far better and easier to use from my experiance with both chips, even though i did eventually get an updated os on the smartxx working.

I agree with stacker.i have a 1.5 xbox with a smartxx, and i just bought a v1.5 halo edition and pondered over a week what to put in it,and i finally decided to try a xenium and in my opinion i like the xenium alot better,to me the smartxx is overkill.just my lousy opinion.

Morglum... How much do you actually know about the background of OzXodus and SmartXX??  Now let me emphasize actually know... not what you think you know.   wink.gif

Nope...

As more and more have actively engaged in posting at X-S, I've learned that there are more and more argumentative people who, in actuality, know nothing about what they are arguing about.  I'm not directing that at anyone here... just making a statment about why I'm not even going to waste my time discussing what I've said.

Both chips are solid... period.  Regardless of any actions which OzXodus or SmartXX make against or for the scene, both will still be solid chips.  There really is no arguing that.

Ive only ever heard one side of it, 2 guesses to which side ive heard  wink.gif  And ive been told by a senior member what actually happened, and everything i was told makes perfect sence and fits into place with other commonly known facts. So i dare say i know more than you about what actually happened  smile.gif  Either way thats by the by.
