D0 Point Issue.

Is it supposed to be?

I bought the Xenium with the official solderless adapter and and it is not working.
According to a friend of mine who's installed several of these, the d0 point is never filled. I'm trying to stick the wire thorugh the point and it ain't happening.

Either I'm looking at the wrong place for the point or my mobo is different from the rest.

I followed this for ref.

Well, I've not seen a filled D0 yet. But, that doesn't mean there couldn't be. Make sure you're following the correct picture. You have made sure that your box is a 1.2, 1.3, or 1.4 right? Because if it is a 1.0 or 1.1 you're using the wrong picture, and if it's a 1.5 then you'll need to solder two additional wires.

Yeah, scrape off the d0 point and that shoudl help.  Also, the wire I had didn't go through the do all the way, but just kinda lies on top of it.

the Wire dosent go IN or through the D0 it just touches the point and sorta sticks there. the actual wire is too big for the D0 - at least on my 1.4 it is. hope that explains that.

p.s.

you might need to bend the srping wire to make it go to the right point and stick to it.

shutup... they do exist... i have one... the next person to say this is dead.... yes they are "faulty" mobos but they are still counted as a version.... just because they are rare doen't mean they don't exist dry.gif

anyway, i couldn't stick a wire THROUGH the d0 on mine so i gently scraped the d0 point and soldered it on...

OK,
I've determined my HALO LE Box is a v1.5.
After much hassle all day with this shit I tried it in my other box, a v1.4, and the chip turned on, thought it was fragging. But on the Halo box it wasn't even turning on. So I will be having my buddy solder it on tonight, hopefully. I don't do solder, not good at it at all. I did lightly scrape and clean the surface with rubbing alcohol and nothing. I also did bend the spring wire to reach the d0 point and it did not work on the halo box but it did on the other box.

But since I started this thread I will ask another question?

Like I said above, when I put it on the other box it did turn on but why was it fragging? Could I have damaged something? I shelled out $76 for this shit and I hope I didn' t screw it up. I'm gonna be wicked mad if I did. Is there anyway I could have messed up the chip or the adapter.

BTW
I'll keep you posted if it does work when it is soldered on. If it does I will be selling the adapter if anyone is interested.

Make sure you are using the standard AV cable until you get the OS upgraded to 1.1. I ran into this issue last night and thought the install was wrong because the xbox was fragging.

Did you clean off the D0 point at all? Supposedly there is a thin layer of some protective film covering the LPC and D0 points. It may have covered the hole in your case. When installing the adapter you're supposed to clean off these leads before placing it. Rubbing alcohol supposedly eats right through the film, and it was what I used before mounting my chip.

What is the manufactor date on your X-Box?

Enough consistent "errors" on the mobos have led to the logical conclusion that the 1.5 is an actual version. I have seen enough posts on this topic to notice that every single person claiming that the 1.5 does not exist, has only posted once or twice on the forums.

Think about it for a second; if all of these "1.5" motherboard are simply 1.4 with problems, don't you find it a little strange that these problems are always the same?

Making bold statements without any facts will usually get you a ton of responses!
