Great news Oxzodus!

One question still remains though.
Xenium can be installed and OS works but...

There have been talk about a separate bios needed for 1.6 to run unsigned code.

Did you get the the current cracked biosses to work also? :?:

Team OzXodus proudly announces another groundbreaking achievement for the Xenium.

In less than a week from the first sighting of the new Version 1.6 motherboard, we have worked round the clock and now have our premium product, the Xenium, up and running. Once our new OS2 is inline and updated, the Xenium will truly live up to its billing as the premium chip on the market.

For the meantime, Xenium solder less will not work as there is need to solder five jumpers under the mother board.

For those of you who are interested, we have posted a picture showing clearly where the D0 is located. (Although it is no longer needed in the 1.6, it can still be used to toggle between LPC and standard flash bus interface).

We have also included a video showing version 1.6 controlling the Xenium debug LED.

We would like to take this opportunity to invite all of you over to our forums at www.ozXodus.com , where we will be discussing and working on all development and release issues exclusively. So if you want to hear news first , join us there!

Xenium. Discover a whole new Xperience!

No room for jokes here.  That one flew straight over your head.  I guess you don't read much because the post above was a direct joke from it. I am an installer/developer for hardware....  Nerds? That post count means nothing, OZXpaul came in with 3 post and was king of the scene in under week.   You have wasted your posts on flame attempts like the reply to my post.  What a shame.

At least some peeps got some good laughs.   Thanks guys.

man.... i was kidding....  wink.gif

ya know... mocking ppl who flame stupid people   wink.gif

jeez

anyway...

this is cleary market propaganda in an effort to gain support for OzXodus...
even though i still believe that they have really accomplished booting the xenium on a 1.6... isn't as bad as the Xecuter press releases, however.... remember the XOS 2 and the X3 will come out at the same time..... never  laugh.gif  laugh.gif

i guess it's good they did this, but no one really has 1.6's yet so i wish they had put all this extra effort into finishing 2.0 and worring about 1.6's in OS 2.1

Well they did not state that they got xenium working with unsigned code.
More like they got the xenium installed, OS working but used MS Original Bios.

Well I was dissapointed anyway that they removed my question without any info of why. My question was not offended in anyway, just a honest question.

Well life goes on.

We finally got a 1.6 to toy with yesterday (thanks to the members that helped).

The hardware changes are lame - this isn't hard at all to bust.

The real test is the software. It will be easy to patch the existing bios but the REALLY hard work is in the X2 bios (as we code from source) and of course any Linux based bios.

Not sure if anyone remembers but Focus support in Linux took around 3 months - so will be very interesting to see how long Xcalibur support takes.

The fact is nothing was "cracked" here - the last real crack was the v1.1 (change of RC4) - simply a rehash of the current hardware setup - nothing major.

Good news for the scene though - now lets get a bios working that actually does something to your xbox

I think they deleted the questions because they only wanted the announcement, to make it a sticky, instead of a discussion thread.

Finally got our hands on a v1.6 yesterday - just waiting for another 5 for our other coders. The technical data needed was pretty much discovered in the first couple of hours, we simply wait for the other boxes to arrive at the workbenches of our colleagues then we will have a release for you - modchip info including an X2 / X3 bios with xcalibur video & audio support. Good to see the whole scene pull together for a change on this one - even though much mis-information has been spread around.

Will be interesting to see how long it takes to add support to any Linux bios. Focus took around 3 months - and this is far more complicated - good luck to those coders.

Looks like they are willing to make updates even the x2 bios. That would solve the problem for Xenium and other mod developers that don't have their own designed bios.

That is quite supportive of teamxecuter towards other mod developers.

yes thanks.
Seen that.
Seems clear thought that that a bios modification is needed.
As I stated at previoust msg that teamxecuter seems to be willing to update the current x2 bios.

In theory, if they were desperate, they could use the m$ bios with a very minor hack so they could confirm it works.

Meanwhile- did anyone notice that they got Xenium working before Xecuter even got a 1.6?

I'm glad I didn't wait for the X3.  The one big upside to Xecuter is that if you buy their products, you don't have to upgrade for a long time.

Hopefully Xenium's OS will prevent upgrades.

well if you want to upgrade to one of their "new" products, you don't have much of choice, than to wait for a "long time" do you?   tongue.gif
