I hope you have a backup of your EEPROM of the old motherboard.

If I remember right using that EEPROM on the new motherboard you can unlock your HD in OS without any problems.

Atleast the serial in the EEPROM is used when OS is calculating the password of your old HD.

There is wery small possibility that general master password exist and that depends on what HD brand you got.

EDIT: MS have removed/changed  the manufacturer master pass from original xbox HD drives.

Only the xbox that locked a hard disk can unlock it!
To lock a hard disk any software or even xenium uses the
contents of the eeprom (ie the hd key)
Config magic also writes a Master password.

So putting a locked hard disk in a different xbox
will get u know where!
You need the contents of the eeporm to unlock
it aka reflash the eeprom with the old contents

In fact.... it's 0% bulletproof.   wink.gif

You should read my contribution to that thread

Also, no master password is set when locking the drive in XOS 1.x

A logic analyzer will only show you the data (password) being sent to the hdd during the unlock command.

If your eeprom is bunk, and the hdd key is not correct (so it cannot unlock the drive)... then a logic analyzer will not help you.... it will only show you the incorrect data being sent.

Once again, for the record... if you do not have the eeprom that the drive was locked with, you are done.  End of story.

Sorry... just the way it is, and no changing it.

EDIT: fixed typo
