I Think I Screwed Up My Xbox, Help Is Appreciated
« on: April 27, 2004, 10:57:00 PM »

before anything make sure you have your xbox hooked up through the standard a/v cables and have a MS controller plugged into port 1 as the xenium's OS version 1.0 had issues with non MS controllers and gave a similar error if it was hooked up through any type of video cable other than the standard a/v cables(meaning no component,s-video, or rf hook up until you upgrade the OS to version 1.1)   i also think you are refering to the OS when you say the ozxodus bios as they don't make thier own bios.

and read this
Creating a Bios CD Manual

also remember:
use rewritable media cause they are more reliable with xbox
burn at low speed
use dummy file (200mb or larger)

It shouldn't frag when startin though.....

Is everything hooked up, IE HD, DVD, A/V, etc?

How did you remove the solder? Any chance you connected a few points?

Does the D0 point look ok?

If you connect traces around the D0 point you can get an xbox to frag. Trust me on that one.

I had a similar situation.  I too was putting a Xenium chip into v. 1.0 xbox.  I spent close to 6 hours trying to desolder the lcp ports.  That's what you happens when you use a poor soldering iron and a cheap solder sucker.  Besides the winded story.  My problem was bad soldering joints on the lcp ports.  I used the pogo pin installation.   The only way I could get a good solder joint was to gently scrape the coating around the lcp holes.  After doing this, my chip booted right into the Xenium OS.  I thought too my X-box was dead.  It took a beating to get this chip installed.  Even the chip got slighly damaged.  The Bios switch broke right off.

Bottom line.  Check the solder joints on lcp ports.
