Try this.  If the IDE connector looks good and no pins are broken you are ok.  Have you installed a new hard drive.  I suggest putting back the original then try doing the OS upgrade from CD.  Make a new CD,  If you are using a Thompson or Samsung Imations CDRWs work great.  If you have a phillips then Ritek-r media is the only way to go.

To make the CD put a big file on there aprox 150MB zip file is good, then add the recovery.bin file on the CD thats it.

If you have Exov already working then just FTP it over and recover from that.  Make sure you have the Safe boot on when doing this.

Good Luck from a fellow installer.

you can sell your old mobo for cheap in the buy-sell-trade forum.... it'll help pay for the new one.....

that hd will be useless unless you have unlocked it....

i recommend removing the eemprom from the board..... to switch with the new one.....

post a request in the bst forum or just shop around.... a few sites sell mobos...

laugh.gif but i'm assuming that you scratched a few traces, right?

the traces can be repaired by using a small screwdirver to scrape off the green cioating to make he trace shiny and soldering a small wire between the trace

i'll post a eeprom picture later... i just woke up  laugh.gif

i remember that a few ppl do repairs here... i'll look...
