If the alternate d0 didn't work it wouldn't be much of an alternate now would it?

The TOP d0 didn't work (the d0 on the top side of the mobo). I was wondering if soldering it to the Alt. d0 would do the job... so I tried it... results are that it still frags...  sad.gif

Hi,

I was installing a Xenium for a friend who messed up his top d0. I installed the Xenium and I got a red LED on chip. Then I tested it and it fragged! I then proceeded to solder the d0 on top to the d0 on the Xenium. It loaded the MS BIOS and the MS Dash. When I disconnect d0 it frags. What I am wondering is if that I solder the alt. d0 point to the d0 on the Xenium if that will work? Also, would I be able to use Xbox Live if I did this? Thanks for you help guys!  cool.gif

It shouldn't frag if the d0 is disconnected.  Try repairing the trace, or get someone to repair it.  Or it just might have a corrupt bios on the tsop (which it shouldn't, because you say it boots to msdash if d0 is on the chip)

I'd rather get someone else to repair it!  laugh.gif
