Trying To Boot Original Ms Bios
« on: March 28, 2004, 06:37:00 PM »

For the heck of it, I tried booting from the original BIOS.  well, the XBOX just did a hard power cycle (not even flubber) and the Xenium bootscreen comes up again.

I tried both booting from the actual motherboard BIOS and also one of the Xenium bios bank flashed with an MS bios.

there is xboxdash.xbe on the root C:\ and if I select that using boxplorer, it loads up MS dash fine.

Is there a particular MS bios version I need?  I flashed it with 5530.

I've locked my HD and am able to boot using 4981 bios.  What am I doing wrong?

I guess MS Bios version _does_ matter.  I flashed it with MS 4817 and at least the flubber shows now.  comes up with error 13.

tutorials says:
13 - kernel - Dashboard launch fail (due to missing/bad key, or anything else that would prevent it from running) and the dashboard didn't specify why it failed.

what does that mean?

try reinstalling the xbox dashboard using Slayers or THC installer.... you may have deleted a file needed
