I have a pretty strong feeling that smartxx's 4mb memory is going to start wiping Xenium on the floor like a ragdoll....

How are we supposed to get half the features they have with only 1mb of room?!?!

I think the ftp linux setup they have is 2mb by itself... as much as I hate to say it we will not be able to do a whole lot with only 1 meg of bios room...

Why why ozXodus do you have to screw us over so bad?!?! we paid good money to get this chip, and they take 2 months to come out with a wimpy update that only rivals the first update of the Smartxx... How lonng till an update with features the smartxx doesn't have?!?!?! 3 yrs....

I am feeling sorry I got a xenium... we are getting pwn3d.

Let me know how you guys feel about this.

afaik, xenium is cheaper than the smartxx...

You know what you are buying when you buy it, I dont see how anyone is getting screwed.
If you want to find some people who are getting screwed, you should talk to the people buying x2's for more than the xenium.

Or people buying clones of XENIUM and are now discovering the problems.. lag.. corrupting memory.. staggered bootup.. did I mention Lag?

Still, that does not dismiss the fact we are getting screwed over, like when is OzXodus going to start bringing out all the Uber features like upgradeable memory?!?!?

It will make me(and a lot more Xenium Owners very happy)...They are talking big I think they need to let us know about what is in the works.

I guess we should be grateful we even have a mod-chip that let's us flash whatever bios we want...

All these crazy, ub3r l33t pimptastic features you're talking about have nothing to do with a 4MB flashROM.  All the larger flashROM is good for is holding more BIOSes.

I'm pretty sure the Ed @ Chip crap they have is part of their OS itself, if I'm not mistaken, and that doesn't go on the portion of the flashROM dedicated to holding BIOSes.

I own a Xenium, and I do not feel as though I'm getting "pwn3d".

I take it back.  Looks like it's a 2MB BIOS all by itself.  2MB is way too big just to allow FTPing in...has that not occurred to anyone?  Christ, just have an EvoX disc handy.

flash the ed@chip via the webserver, ftp the xbox, copy over a dash, then flash over the ed@chip.  And with the formatting and locking options as well, you can flash your bios, replace your hard drive, format, and install a dash, all w/o burning a single cd.

Flash size is not an issue.  The fact that it takes "them" 2mb to do some things does not mean it HAS to take 2mb to do them.
