flash the ed@chip via the webserver, ftp the xbox, copy over a dash, then flash over the ed@chip.  And with the formatting and locking options as well, you can flash your bios, replace your hard drive, format, and install a dash, all w/o burning a single cd.

Definitely a useful feature, no question.  But in real life, it's not like you have to burn an evox disc every day.  As long as you have burned an evox cd/dvd at some point in your life, you will never need to burn another one again, and so it's not exactly an end all be all feature.

Either way, I would be astounded if OzXodus doesn't add ftp at some point in the future.  Team Xecuter was able to add ftp to a 512k BIOS, I'm sure OzXodus can figure out how to add it into 1mb.

They were? Which BIOS was that?  blink.gif

4978 (1mb - broke on x2lites)
4978 fixed (1mb)
4978.02 (512k - IGR broke)
4978.03 (512k)

There was simply an .xbe in the bios image, and was dependant on the bios already loading of course.

If the XOS itself is 1mb how do they plan to get more features including ftp, and something like LAN flashing into 1 meg....that's physically impossible..right?

Thats awsome, I'm about to put that on my Xenium! Does that mean I can transfer stuff to my Xbox while like playing Halo online?  ohmy.gif

Well...uhh.. I didn't exactly expect this to draw so much attention, but great!

And for real, Artifex replying that's gangsta.....

Ok, sounds nifty(god I love that word... tongue.gif  nifty thrifty, thrifty nifty ) we will wait...and....wait....and...wait..and wait........ And then we'll teabag those smartxx hoes! ohmy.gif  unsure.gif  Lol did  I really say that?!?!?  muhaha.gif

Thanks everyone for the replies,  everyone...I am sure we have boosted the moral of many Xenium owners, and realized that many people *cough* NikAmi *cough*..don't really know anything about anything...

Ok, patience is a virtue correct? But...honestly a month an a half for 1 update?

Maybe it's just me...

Tidus...be a good little noob: sit down and shut the fuck up.

You obviously have no idea what you are talking about and are posting for the sake of posting. You the most twisted around, fucked up person I have ever seen on these forums. Hell, you were the one who started this topic with the title "Xenium Owners are so Screwed" and now you are getting mad at me when I am pointing out why. As to all you other people, references to the SmartXX team releasing "sloppy" code are completely unbased. Take the OS for example. The Xenium's is 1 MB (versus 0.5 for the SmartXX) and it does less. The ED @ Chip may have to be that big because the ftp's that were on bioses, even though they were very small, they were extremely buggy and hence they were eliminated in the next revision. Yeah, you could burn an EvoX boot disk, but then what is the point of shelling out the excess money for one of these 4th gen chips? In fact, if you were going to do it this way, it makes less sense as you have to manually (only in Xenium) flash the BIOS from the cd. For any experienced user, these 4th gen chips are mostly useless with a bunch of unneeded features (SmartXX included), but for noobs, these chips are godsends so it would make sense to make these things as noob friendly as possible. I personally don't care that the Xenium has less flash space than the SmartXX, but (at least for noobs) they should definitely revamp the OS to include an HTTP server (maybe even FTP though HTTP is all that is needed) because with the chip's hardware, there is no reason that a customer should have to bother burning a new disc everytime there is a new OS update, although judging by recent events, or lack of them, that isn't too often. Anyways, I am not flaming the Xenium chip I am just pissed at them because I almost bought theirs (I would have if I had had my XBox at that time) and I don't people getting screwed by them especially seeing as how they were so excited to receive their chips. It's like telling a child that they're going to Disneyland and then taking them to the park. Anyways, go ahead TidusBlitz, away with your trademark, headless chicken flaming. I laugh at you.  rotfl.gif

sleep.gif  Luckily I am a calm type of guy NikAmi and I can take some 6yr. old's punk flame...but when I ask you how many FAQ's have you written, can you say "Tidus is a n00b, he has not gotten one FAQ pinned!, I NikAmi on the other hand have contributed greatly to the scene" Can you...can you honestly say that you have contributed greatly to the scene?

1) judging one by your post count I would say you have not done 1/4 of what I have done...

2)Your quality of Posting is repetitive, I bet you do not realize that you say the sam thing over about 4...no wait 5 times?

3)Any halfway educated person would know how to FUCKING SEPERATE PARAGRAPHS....

4)You are clueless as to the world around you, because no halfway decent chip- maker would come up with a marketing scheme like the banning and crypt-stealth level 1 lie...

5)No self respecting modder would call any other modder a n00b because they would like to get a response from the community on the speed of progress in features of their chip.

6) And, last but not least, being that you are claiming yourself to be so 1337 why would you waist your time to bother some "noob" in a forum that is rivaling a forum about your chip.

So, unless you would like to settle this in a professional manner(you talk to me on AIM, we direct connect, and see who can gain r00t first)..

GO BACK TO THE DUMP YOU CAME FROM AND HAVE A NICE DAY WITH "Rosie the Palm"..
