Ok well this is to help people put in the future with similar problems I have had throughout the period of setting up my Xenium Modchip. The problems and fixes I will be talking about are: getting the chip to work with the solderless adapter, creating a bios cd that works with the xenium, getting a evox to work, connecting to xbox with a SYSLINK router (locating, and timeouts)
Was so happy to get my xenium modchip. When putting in the solderless adapater, I noticed the point farthest from the screw on the adapter was sticking up. Seriously, dont worry it will work fine. Once I connected my d0 point up and mounted my chip, I tried firing it up.
Problem: When starting the chip would turn on red, or sometimes not even turn on and the box would start and immediately shut off 3 times
Fix: take the solder less adapter off and get a toothpick. Put it in each rivet and spin it around, this will help make contact. Once I got this it was good. oh and remember when xenium boots and you see the controller press the clear button. (boggled my mind)
Using a Memorex CD-RW I burnt the evox dash following the tutorials, but it never worked. Always got the BIOS NOT PROPORLY SIZED error.
Problem: Evox DASH is a DASH, and BIOS is what you need first
Fix: Downloaded Evox M7 BIOS and followed the tutorials to create a BIOS cd. AN IMPORTANT NOTE is rename evoxM7 to BIOS.BIN and if you use the dummy file from the Xenium website, rename that to abc.dat (I dont know if it is necessary, but didnt want to deal with another properly not sized problem) After this evox DASH worked perfect
Problem: whenever trying to connect using a program with the address 192.168.0.3 would give me either a timeout or unable to connect.
Fix: Disable the XP firewall in the network properties. I have zone alarm too. Go into it, and go to firewall. hit add and type in the xbox's ip 192.168.0.3 and name it xbox. Hit add and then shut off zone alarm. Zone alarm runs even when disabled due to it was designed to run that way. One more step you need to do. Go back into network properties, and go into TCP/IP and once in properties, hit "use following ip address. Type in 192.168.0.2 .After typing in 192.168.0.2, clicking on subnet mask (which automatically puts in the numbers), and then hitting ok, and ok to leave properties, I was able to ftp into the xbox using the SYSLINK router by now typing in 192.168.0.3 use a 3 instead of a 2 so it works, I dont know why but it works for me! Now once saving these setting on the comp, my internet dies, dont worry if this happens to you too.
Sorry for any spelling errors. If you need extended help send me an im, I am usually on AIM (SubaruBaja502) and I can "help" you find the places to get ready made ISO's with evox (just burn it) and also "help" your find evox m7
