Frank,
Using the latest evox, goto system tools and click on Flash Bios, Select a bio.
It will then show a samll dialogue box.

If it shows Manufacturer ID 01 and Device ID c4
Then you will be able to flash your Xenium, with the proper line in Evox.ini to match that man/dev id's.

Yeah, that's right, you'll be able to flash your Xenium within EvolutionX.  ALL OF IT!  No more XeniumOS, probably no more "recovery mode", kiss the lot goodbye as you overwrite the 1MB of the Xenium's TSOP that contains the XeniumOS itself!

Small tech hitch with that post.. The Xenium has a 2 MB flash area... 1 for the Xenium OS.. 1 For BIOS's...

I got no idea what would happen if he flashed that 1 MB file to the 2 MB flash area.

I didn't say the chip was 1MB.  I pointed out that you'd "kiss the lot goodbye as you overwrite the 1MB of the Xenium's TSOP that contains the XeniumOS itself!"  Maybe I should've clarified myself by saying that you'd "kiss the lot goodbye as you overwrite the 1MB of the Xenium's 2MB TSOP that contains the XeniumOS itself!"

AFAIK, the only people who have screwed the XOS up was a few morons and a few people seeing if it could be corrupted... however, the recovery mode works in most circumstances.....

I think you mean "The recovery mode works."

If there are any 'circumstances' in which it doesn't, please submit a bug report, of course.  wink.gif

Really? I thought that the recovery mode was accomplised by setting aside a section of the Flash memory for a "Recovery" BIOS... are you saying it is built into the controller?

better get out my magnets..... oh wait.... only HD are affected by magnets... darn...

You are right. Its a set aside memory.

But a stupid bug or something, can possibly cause that memory to be able to get corrupted. Althought the recovery mode, so far hasnt been able to be corrupted by me.
