Proper Way To Install A Xenium Chip On All Xbox
« on: March 12, 2004, 11:40:00 AM »

Questions.

1. If i have solder metal  thingy in the lpc port do i remove them.
Well  NO you don't remove them leave them as it is, just clean them with alcohol and QTIPs.  Do the same thing for the DO point to because most of the time you will find a lot of dust in the xboxes.

2. How do i know which xbox has the the solder metal thingy in them.
well only xbox version 1.0 and 1.1 has the the solder metal in them.

3. What  do i do now that they have the solder metal thingy in them, do i still sodder them so i can use the rivets?
No you don't need the rivets. The reason they send you the rivets because they don't no the version of xbox you have so everyone who order the xenium chip will get the gold rivets.  So in xbox V1.0 and V1.1  the rivets are useless so just keep them as suvenir for your friend when he comes over.

4.  I have an xbox that has holes in the lpc port so what do i do?
Easy pu the rivets in those wholes.

5. I don't have enough rivets for those whole so what do i do?
Well you are not going to put all of those rivets in the whole. and the best place
to get a diagram  for placing those rivets in the lpc will be ozxodus and  the url is this one http://www.ozxodus.c...wdownload&cid=6 and download the manual for the solderless adapter for the chameleon and look under version 1.2 and 1.5 section it will show you which are the lpc port were you going to put those rivets in.

6.  My friend told me to remove the solder metal thingy in the lpc port and put the rivest and that's the right way to do it?
Well guess what your friend is wrong you don't have to remove them so follow my first question and you will get it.

7. Now my adapter is place in  the xbox and tight down so i don't see any manual on how am i going to place the chip on top of the adapter?
Well that's easy to just use common sense.  Here we go to place the chip on top of the xbox the correct way.
one thing you should look at is the word "XENIUM"
The X from x-eniums shold be facing towar the back of the XBox
And the M from Xeniu-m should be facin toward the fron of the xbox were the power and eject button located.

8. Last and not least?
Test your xbox first before putting it back together.

well that's all folks and i hope have been helpful to those that are getting into modding.
and These little guide will work for xbox version 1.0 to 1.4 cause here in the USA we don't have Version 1.5 so don't worry my friends.

P.S.

my v 1.1 doesnt have solder in the holes. Good tutorial though. When I get my chip on the 16 this will help me on the part of which way the chip should be facing. Totally forgot about that part.

well.. hmm.. my version 1.0 xbox had solder in the lpc port holes, AND I REMOVED IT ALL.

It's not easy, (unless you know what you're doing like me), but the headerpin CAN be used on a 1.0 xbox if you remove the solder first.

This "tutorial" is pretty much useless, since you don't even mention what to do if you have a 1.0 xbox.  laugh.gif  laugh.gif  laugh.gif

"solder metal thingy" ... LOL.. I don't think you should be writing a tutorial if you call solder the solder metal thingy... LOL  laugh.gif  laugh.gif  laugh.gif

men pay attention dude you don't  read by the line.

anyways as he said it might be useless if you only read this small tutorial and not read the others.  I am just providing some info that was not in the others.  i might create one with pictures later and you guys come up with the question and i will answer them as much as possible and see what can we do.  As they said let all work together and if you think some info is missing and not being explained correctly then correct me and provide the correct info damn it.
Well for v1.0 or 1.1  don't remove the solder in it. Leave it as it is and clean them off with alcohol and place the adapter on top if and that''s wel that's not it, you have to align the adapter on top and you can tell when it is align if you have good eyes. not like our here who remove his solder in the lpc port who did not pay attention. Instead of making it easy for himself he just made it harder remember i am using him as an example i am not critizing him. So follow every single instruction. Just don't do what other tuts. say but until you have read all of them and you will see you are going to have a smooth installation.
