Hes saying dont post in all caps because its like yelling.

I dont get your post either. You tried to load it from the cdrw and it freezes without saying anything like it didnt find a file? I would redo the 4x256 flash sizes then try to make the cd again. Memorex cdrws should work.

I have redone my banks 3 or 4 times even tried just the one bank at 1meg option (since i had read it will resize bios upto the size of the bank but not the other way) and still no nothing i am going to see if plugging up my pc's dvd will make a difference. also should the bios.bin be in caps or lower case or does it matter...
plus do dummy files matter what type or name they are i was using a copy of an  iso of w2003server.

and yes it will just freeze as soon as i select d:/bios.bin option i have even let it sit for a couple hours thinking it might just take awhile... but if there is no cd in drive it will pop up could not find error message so it is trying to find something|(or acting like it is)..

The way you make a XOS update cd is the same way you make a bios flash ( BIOS.BIN  should be in caps I think) cd, are u doing it the same way?  How are you hooking up your pc dvd, a regular pc dvd drive needs to be modified to work properly in the xbox...you can use any xbox dvd drive (any make, ie. switch a samsung with a thompson) in any other xbox, but a pc drive needs to be modified.  If it still doesn't work you could try downgrading to XOS 1.0 and then trying it again, or figure some way to FTP or transfer files into your box (savegame hack?) you could put the BIOS.BIN on your hard drive and try it.  Also what do you mean it hangs, what image is on the screen when it is hanging, does it stay loading, is it still at the Xenium OS menu?

yes am making same way only think different is xos update is name recovery.bin and other is bios.bin same dummy file. i had heard that you could just hook up pc dvd with the xbox dvd power still plugged in.  as for it hanging i get nothing it is still in the flash menu  won't let you selectanother option or exit. i have tried to put on hd but when put in pc it wants to convert it and didnt think would be wise to convert it. i am running XPsp1. i have read the manual on it but it is vary vague all it says is to copy it to your xbox hd says nothing about gettin your pc to recognize or which partition to put it on...or i would that would make it very easy..

ph34r.gif but this works... this method has helped many n00bs that i've privately helped on aim...

ok... look for hot-swapping under here.... follow the hot swapping tutorial... (BACKUP FIRST, I CANNOT STRESS THE IMPORTANCE) put your bios.bin on the C: or system partition with HDD Driver or Fat-X-Box Explorer... then goto the flashing screen in the Xenium and select "Select BIOS for HD" and select bios bin cuz you put it on ur HD by hot swapping...

ok? AIM me for question...

PS>> I'm back after being banned from my computer for 8 days!!!! grrrr  laugh.gif

haha yes, you cannot just plug in your xbox drive to the pc and read it as they are in different file systems, if you can't find any other way into your hard drive (savegame etc.) then you could try the hotswap method psiblade talks about above

edit: have you tried downgrading the OS and then flashing? (I think both bin files (RECOVERY.BIN & BIOS.BIN can be put on the same cd/dvd)

edit2: for using teh PC drive in the XBOX did you read this? http://www.xbox-scen...es/dvddrive.php There are other tuts on this also if you click on the tutorials tab in the xbox-scene homepage and expand 'Xbox Hardware Addons/Modifications'.  Check to make sure the jumper setting is on slave for the pc drive, how are you connecting power, through a splitter? the hard drive power? make sure to read 'How to boot games' section of that tutorial and try both methods
