Load The Bios And It Hangs

I can confirm that 4981.06 works without issue on a V1.0 and V1.1 Xbox's.

Did you choose the flash bank format first and then save the changes
before flashing the first 256k bank?

The reason I ask is because I did not the first time I flashed my Xenium.
I looked at the flash bank settings and it looked like to me it was already set @ 4x256k.
So I thought it was good for what I wanted.

So I Flashed the 1st bank on the chip.
Said it was good.
Rebooted got the Xenium Boot Screen and then FRAG.
I recovered the Xenium OS.
Then Actually chose the flash bank format this time.
Saved the changes and reflashed the chip.
I have not had a problem since.

If that doesnt help.
Then try downloading the bios images again from a known good source.
Like #xbins.

Another thing that i forgot to say is, when I flash the bank it doesn't take on the name of the flash even when i go to auto name or recongize whatever the command is.  it just remains bank 1

after you read the bios in from the cd did you make sure to select program flash? some people miss this and think it is programed after doing the first step

yeah I did click on program flash, the light then turns red on the xbox and after a bit it goes back to green when it says the flash is complete.

I just tried to open Evox M 7 with XBtool and it tells me kernal extraction failed.  all the bios i tried to open come up with that error

You are flashing your chip with BFM BIOS's. Stop doing that and your problem will go away.

I found the bios on newsgroups, I guess using the BMF bios was the same reason when i tried doing raincoat with it that it messed up which is the reason i had to buy a modchip in the first place XslackerX did you do the raincoat TSOP?
