Replace X2 Lite With Xenium
« on: March 02, 2004, 02:59:00 PM »

QUOTE (Whiskey~Flame @ Mar 2 2004, 03:52 PM)
Hi,  I've got an Xecuter 2 Lite installed in my Xbox. I used the header pin to install it. I now have a brand new Xenium and would like to pull my Xecuter out of the Xbox and replace it with the Xenium.

My question is, would I be able to re-use the D0 connector that comes with the Xecuter 2 modchip.? I noticed that the Xenium has a two wire port near the D0 solder point on the modhip. Is it safe to use this port to achieve a proper grounding of D0?

Thanks

I dont think the ports will be compatable.  But there is a D0 pad on the Xenium you can use instead.

You can also solder a wire to the D0 on the Xenium.

Now you have a D0 on your MB and a D0 on your Xenium.  Go to Radio Shack and get some easy connector instead of making a perminant solder solution.

This will save you time in the future if you ever plan on upgrading your chip again.
