try loading the bios from the hd.

well, did you name the bios "BIOS.BIN" and add a dummy file?

And try to put it on a DVD-R

Most of the time this solves the problem if you have a dvd rom that not a sammie

As I've said before you can replace your Xbox dvd drive with a PC dvd drive as a one off
