Xenium Install In A V1.5 Went Spot On
« Reply #1 on: February 28, 2004, 01:10:00 PM »

Hi;

We have been installing the xeniums colderless for 3 months and never had to solder a single one, none have ever had any issues either, Im not sure why people mentioned you needed to solder the power.

Thanks

put a wire in between the blue and green part
then use a wire for ground smile.gif

still need 2 wires... =\

You're recommending to put a wire between the 3.3v point and the Ground point?!?!?!

Do you realize what will happen if you try this, and the Xbox turns out NOT to be a v1.5?  You'd better have a fire extinguisher handy!

Version 1.5 motherboards have had the 3.3v & Ground removed from the LPC, as such the installation procedure for the Xenium for this version requires the installation of an additional two wires.
The photo below shows the location of a 3.3v point (marked in blue), Ground (marked in green), the upper d0 point (marked in red), LPC Pin 2 (marked in pink) and LPC Pin 9 (marked in orange).

V1.5 Installation Method 1
(Recommended for Quicksolder installations)
Solder a piece of wire between the blue point shown in the photo above and the solder pad marked in blue in the photo below. This will provide the Xenium with the 3.3 volts it needs. Also solder a piece of wire between the screw-hole as shown above in green and the pad on the Xenium that is marked in green for the Xenium?s Ground connection.

V1.5 Installation Method 2
(Recommended for Pin header installations)
As shown in the photo below you can also install a wire from the 3.3v point (marked in blue) to Pin 9 on the pin header to supply the Xenium with power. A piece of wire between the Ground point (marked in green) and Pin 2 on the pin header is also required for this installation method.

Now either your being nasty and lying to these people or you misread the instructions to install and you'd better take it out before it goes  pop.gif
