Not like I would need this feature, but maybe for others, a multi-lingual OS for Xenium would be cool. The ability to choose which language you prefer like Spanish, French, Deutch (sp?), Italin, etc.

Also, the ability to load the OS without a controller and support for generic brand controllers. If you have QuickStart enabled and your controller is NOT plugged in, it should goto the Default BIOS. If you have QuickStart disabled, it should just load the OS.

Skins?  Built-in FTP?  Perhaps it can also function as a menu for your games?

Guys, try to remember that it's not a dashboard...it's a small utility to get your BIOS needs going.  It happens to have a couple lightweight bells and whistles.  If you think it takes too long to boot now, these extras you're suggesting will only slow it down more.

Personally I dont care about the load time of the XOS,  most people dont like to boot all the way into their dashboard just to ftp there games over.  I don't.

So one less step would be good to go  smile.gif

i vote ftp as well seeing as how many do seem to have issue burning discs(i was one) and my current personal way of laoding a dash is still using my mech disc:)

built in ftp would make this and disc burning unnecessary.

The only thing I would really care to see added would be an FTP feature.

It would be alot nicer to be able to install the mod and FTP to the Xbox via the modchip instead of having to burn a new disc everytime I build a new Xbox.

TSOP flashing support for those who solder the points together on the mobo would be nice too. I'd like to be able to flash TSOPs with my Xenium.

Skins would be nice too but I care more about FTP support.

I'm almost done so close on a memorysave based installation system
All apps emulators dashboards all stored in memorycard saves biggrin.gif

Besides the bios install it will be a copy and go adventure no more having to 'install' anything so to speak

Why not just...NOT throw away the disc?  Maybe even use it in another Xbox?  I hear you can use DVD-Rs more than once nowadays.

I have a single EvoX boot disc on Ritek DVD-R.  In addition to EvoX, it's got a couple tools like boXplorer, Configmagic, etc.  I've had it for slightly over a year.  It has booted on EVERY system I have EVER worked with.  It has booted flawlessly on all Thomsons, all Philips, and all Samsungs that I've ever come across.  I can't imagine why some people run into DDEs.

I guess if you have only a CD-RW drive and can't get a disc to work, FTP might be handy.  But if you have a disc that works...I don't understand why you'd be making another one.

SOME of us poor people,  ph34r.gif , don't have DVD Burners, and don't want to waste money on them just for Xboxes. I feel that FTP is necessary because once you load the Xenium OS, you could easily FTP your EvoX onto the C Partition. Saves time and grace!  wink.gif

Has nothing to do with reusing discs or not...

I mod alot of systems and some of the DVDROM's dont read burned disc's worth a bent disc... I have modded thomsons that will not read CDR, CDRW and will hardly read DVDR...

Normally I get stuck pulling my Samsung out of my personal Xbox to install Evox...

Would just be alot easier to throw an FTPD right into the OS then I can install mod.. Unlock HDD, put bios on HDD, flash mod, and upload EVox....

When you mod a half dozen to a dozen per day anything to speed up the process is nice.

Sometimes I get lucky and find a Philips or Sammy XBox that will read discs without pot tweaking or a bunch of crap but normally I get stuck using crappy thomsons.

Also being able to flash the Xenium via LAN would be cool too....

I dunno about flashing Xenium through LAN....

It really isn't a BIG feature, but SmartXX makes it seem big. Why not just FTP the BIOS over to your Xbox hard drive through Xenium's upcoming built in FTP (HOPEFULLY!  biggrin.gif ) and then flash the BIOS through the OS.

Not to bash SmartXX, but the whole FTP via LAN is pretty worthless. If you have the recovery mode, you mine as well use that and FTP a BIOS over and flash. Voila, you're done!  wink.gif
