It takes about 5 minutes to copy the standard 8gig if you have nothing on it. I think one of the OzX guys said to copy something like your 120 gig could take up to 10 or so hours. It all depends how much of it is blank space of course.

It's a problem the cromwell bios has in the way it allows you to copy information

That's what the ozxodus team said... I think they are busy finding a way round it though... or they will in a future release.

It looks like little things like this annoy them too, that and they seem to enjoy pushing/redefining boundaries.

As far as I've read though this is the easiest/safest and fastest way there is to clone a hard drive... anyothers would involve hotswapping and well swithcing live equiptment about can be a hazard to bot you and the hardware

When I used Norton Ghost, I could clone a 120 gb drive (full) in 2-3 hours. You have to use the exact same HD, and add the -IR flag when you load Ghost to tell it to do a RAW, sector by sector cloning for it to be able to copy an xbox formatted drive.

im running a penitum 4 3.0 w/ 1gb ram and I ghost a full 120gb in about 45 minutes. I will probably still use ghost with the bit by bit course instead of a xbox copy software/hardware solution. Very simple. Put the disk in. It does the rest.

I was able to replace my stock drive in about 6 minutes.  Perhaps this feature is more aimed at people like me, who are just getting around to replacing their stock drive.

I suppose the coolest thing about it was that it was easy.

To be honest, I don't think anything is actually happening now.  I think it's a bug.  I experienced the same thing while trying to copy a 60g to a new 120g.  It stayed at 'Opening Partition' for hours, so I eventually turned it off.  After that, I check the F partition with BoxPlorer and nothing had been transferred.

I'm not saying that this is definitely what's happening with you, but that's what happened to me.

Like it was stated before, I believe it was more concentrated on us n00bs wanting to get rid of that gay 8 gig H.D so....maybe you shouldn't get so greedy....geez if I had a 60 gig drive I would copy like 10 games, ftp em' back to my comp, and burn them to dvd to use again(not pirating, because you willonly make 1 copy of each game(you will delete the ones on your H.D) Anyways...shut it off, hopefully it didn't F*x0r your drives....
